Double Wammy at the Semaphore Workers Club Print E-mail
Wednesday, 21 January 2009

Sample ImageYour last chance to see Double Wammy at the Semaphore Workers Club in January this year is Sunday the 25th! Of course, they'll be back, but you want to see them in January, like everybody else, don't you? Of fuggin' course you do. The Semaphore Workers Club is THE home for Roots and Blues music in South Australia. Once you discover the place you will want to spend every weekend down there sampling the finest live music getting about these days. And even if you think Double Wammy is a bucket of poo with sticks shoved in the top, you can still sit on the veranda, sip an icy Coopers Pale and enjoy a view across Gulf St John Vincent that millionaires would pay a million bucks for. So get on down to Semaphore, bring your friends (if you have any) or your partner, pardner, and rock till your socks rot with Double Wammy this Sunday, January 25. LIve music kicks off around 5 pm.

Follow up: In a recent post I mentioned the some members of The Grouse were teaming up with some of Acoustic Juice's mob and John Schumann to become the new Vagabonds and haul our arses over to Western Australia for the Boyup Brook Vietnam Veterans festival. Well, we did and it was bloody excellent! If you've never been to the Boyup Brook Veterans festival it is a journey worth making. I certainly hope we get back there next year... or before, if they'll have us! Once I have collected enough photographs I will post a decent log of the event. Schooey raised the roof both evenings and firmly setting in stone his reputation as a mighty songwriter and entertainer, with more than a touch of the raconteur about him.  James Blundell and his band and Adam Brand and his band were on the Saturday night bill along with a host of other performers. It was hot and dusty but the vibe was cool. The music and stage  facilities were superb and the crew could not be better. It's another world, that's for sure, but one you should visit.
