Sample ImageLook at the time ... poke my budgie's fethry hole with a pineapple - it's gone half-past June and I haven't got the washing done yet. Here it is Wednesday and I am just hanging up the posters for Blues Avenue - Swinging the Blues at the Wheatsheaf Hotel on THURSDAY - get the change of date.... THURSDAY June whatever it is. Tomorrow. June 25. James Sweet Baby Meston and The Preacher Denis Surmon kick off the proceedings at around 8 pm and that's when the jiving starts. It's free to get in and - if you like to Swing, Jive or Lindy Hop - you will have more fun than a swine flu germ in a Jumbo jet!

Saturday June 27 - following the triumph at the Cabaret Festival Fringe shows (The Promethean) Honky Tonk Angels - the Loretta Lynn Story will be taking the country to the beach to present a foot-stomping dinner dance show at the North Haven Surf Club. You get the whole show and a bellyfull of grub.; now, you couldn't beat that with a two-foot kidney buster, could you?  Tickets are selling fast and you will need to hurry.

The two-hour show tells the life story of Loretta Lynn from Coal Miner's Daughter to Honky Tonk Angels, with Amber Joy Poulton playing the Queen of Country Music, and The HellRaisers providing the musical backdrop. Don't miss it while it is still affordable! Here's some contact details: North Haven Surf Life Saving Club, Foreshore, Australia II Avenue, North Haven, 5018. ph: (08) 8341 8543.  Photo left: Honky Tonk Angels on stage at the Promethean Theatre for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival Fringe 2009

Sample ImageNow, if you're going down that way - sort of to the beach at the top end of the Peninsula for the Loretta Lynn Show, for example, why not stick around - maybe sleep in the car or behind a rubbish skip or something - and get ready to rock till you get a serious pain in your left arm that goes all the way down your chest and makes your face turn blue, to the mighty sounds of Double Wammy at the Semaphore Workers Club. Doors open 4 to 8 pm and the power soul starts at 5-ish. You don't have to bring nothing but a smile and maybe a bucket bong to have a good time. See you there on Sunday June 28 at the Semaphore Workers Club, Semaphore. Right near many other things in Semaphore, including the beach and that amusement park thing.

Sample ImageDon't forget Sunday at the Coopers 1862 Bar in the Wine Underground - Adelaide's newsest Roots and Blues Music venue in PIrie Street, Adelaide. LIve music from around 4 to 8 pm every Sunday.
