At least, I hope they do … because we’re taking BLACK – the Lighter Side of Johnny Cash to The Starplex Theatre, Gawler this Saturday August 15. Yippee yahoo!. We’ll feel right at home among the Gawler-ites; out there in the “country”.  Well, I know it’s not really the “country”, that’s why I put them “” around the word. Still, I’ll bet if we stood on a fireman’s ladder perched on top of the lichen that’s on top of a weather vane on top of the tallest building in Gawler we might be able to see a paddock or a tree so, it’s good enough for me!

BLACK has been charming audiences with its drug references, horrifying murder and other death sequences and then making them bilious with the lovey-dovey June Carter-Johnny Cash bits but it’s all in a night’s entertainment. Something different… pan!c will be flying up to the Painted Desert on Tuesday August 18 to do a freezing-cold out-in-the-open concert for the Variety Club Bush Bashers. Someone please put anti-freeze in my cocoa! Hillie, Garnery, Surmoney and Rhodesey will be packing their long-johns, wooly mittens and beanies for a pop music cultural evening among the howling dingoes, rampant bilbies and rabid gaonnas. Oh... and the Bush Bash drivers.  I will also be packing a giant bag of curry powder I got from Gagani's because I remember reading in the paper about a couple of dudes called Burke and Wills who got pretty seriously stuck out in the bush and if that happens to pan!c and we have to eat our camels I want mine to taste nice. It would make pretty good left-overs on toast the next day, too.
