Surf's Up! Print E-mail

Here it is, freezin' fuggin' cold and we gotta talk about surf and the beach and stuff. Well, that's because it needs to be discussed, son. See, over there in Streaky Bay Sample Image- a place that sounds like our toilet on a Sunday morning - well, they have the biggest waves in the world.. no... they're the biggest and BEST waves in the universe. They don't have nothing like this on Mars, although I suppose there's more than a few ripples on Uranus ... I might leave that there and carry on... so, surfers are coming from as far aways as deep space and even very-deep-diving-board-end space to feed the sharks, i mean, ride the waves. So, the Honky Tonk Angels Loretta Lynn Show (featuring Amber Joy Poulton - pic left) has decided to go over to Streaky Bay this weekend and entertain the surfin' dudes and dudesses. 'What does Loretta Lynn have to do with surf', I see you're about to arks.. well, I was told Loretta used to wash her cotton-pickin' overalls in Surf. That's what I heard from a bloke in the pub and it's good enough for me. MInd you, that bloke was having a hard time staying upright on the bar stool but he looked honest enough to me when he was stretched out nicely on the floor. Anyway,  Honky Tonk Angels in Streaky Bay this Friday and Saturday.

Now... well, not 'now' but a bit later, like Sunday October 18, the surf comes to the Gov! For one night only on that day, the Gov will stomp to the crazy beat of surf music. Wave upon wave of music inspired by surf, sun sand and skin cancer. From Bombora to Tsunami, the whole world in a grain of silica... If it sounds like I don't have much information about the show yet you're hangin' eleven or even twelve but I do know there will be three - count them... one, two , three acts, starting with Surf Fiction (pic below), cutting into Double Wammy then paddling out to try it again with ... with.... fcuk.. I can't remember their name but Tristan knows. Hey, Tristan.... what's the name of that crazy surf band you're in every noun then? That's right... the G.T. fukken' Stringers! I can also tell you the gig will stick its spade in the sand about 6 pm and the freak-out shimmies till ten-ish. Cover charge will be a lousy 15 clams(ho ho - sometimes I'm funnier than a case of crabs). More info about the gig will follow but check with the Gov website or look for promo in the press.
