Comprising some of the most experienced musicians and entertainers in South Australia, Warp Factor is a new music entertainment venture conceived by Denis Surmon, manager of Blue Ring Records and bass player in groups such as The Grouse, pan!c, Double Wammy, Blues Avenue Trio, Walking The Line - Australia's Number One Johnny Cash Show, Honky Tonk Angels - the Loretta Lynne Story, and The Sidecutters. Warp Factor continues where The Grouse left off (three former Grouse member are founding Warp Factor members) after 5 years with major hotel groups in Adelaide, blending hits and classic songs from many eras for an evening of dancing, singing and good fun. By assembling members of these groups in configurations that match a client's needs, we can stage a band will be high on entertainment value and packing a mighty vocal and musical punch. Warp Factor can be configured as a two piece - Warp Factor 2 - either as acoustic or rocking along with rhythm tracks. Adding musicians allows us to put on stage Warp Factor 3; Warp Factor 4, Warp Factor 5 or even Warp factor 6. in each case adding a musician or entertainer to achieve the best possible outcome for the event . The usual Warp Factor 4 line-up is:
Michael Hill, on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Michael has fronted pop covers groups pan!c and The Grouse, and The Range Rovers. Denis “the Preacher” Surmon on electric bass and vocals. The Preacher is the pulse behind Double Wammy, Sweet baby James Trio, pan!c, the Grouse, and the Steve Brown Band. Rob Boundy – Drums and vocals - has occupied the drum stool for major acts such as The Modes, the Grouse and Tour Of Duty, shines as a dynamic performer and backup vocalist. David “Rocky” Rhodes is a superb guitarist having featured in Steve Brown and The Last Train Home, Acoustic Scandal and often runs blues guitar “gunfights” that see him teaming up with other top jazz and blues guitarists. It is possible to include female vocasl and we lean towards the talents of Diane Dixon who is a legend in the Corporate Entertainment scene and has appeard in Fringe and Cabaret Festival shows.
